Usain Bolt, widely regarded as one of the best athletes of all time, will compete at the Expo 2020 Dubai. PepsiCo, the world fair's official beverage and snack partner, are bringing him to the site as a Gatorade ambassador.

On Saturday, November 13, Usain Bolt will don his running shoes and lead a public 1.45 km Family Run to benefit Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination. PepsiCo is hosting the event in collaboration with the Sports, Fitness, and Wellbeing Hub at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Bolt is one of the only sportsmen who has completely changed his sport. The sprint king has dominated track and field for almost a decade, becoming his sport's most recognisable icon. He is an 11-time world champion, an 8-time Olympic gold medalist, and the holder of many world records. Bolt has constantly pushed the boundaries of what is possible as a Gatorade brand ambassador, setting records and making history.

Sholto Douglas-Home, Chief Sales and Marcomms Officer, Expo 2020 Dubai said that they were thrilled by the opportunity for Usain Bolt, alongside their partners at PepsiCo and Gatorade, to help bring focus to one of Expo 2020's central themes – to inspire people to embrace, on a daily basis, the importance and value of fitness, health, and wellbeing in their lives. They were honoured that Usain Bolt had decided to participate in the Run the World event, and they were convinced that it would inspire many people to run for their own good causes.

Aamer Sheikh, President and General Manager, Pepsico MENA and Pakistan said that through Expo 2020 Dubai, PepsiCo was pushing positive change and sparking delight to create unique moments. They believed in the critical role that people of determination play in their community, and they understood the necessity of providing them with the rehabilitation, training, and support they needed to become valuable assets in the construction of a better future. They were honored to collaborate with the Sports Hub and Usain Bolt to gather funds so that Al Noor could continue to help deserving kids.

The Family Run is available to people of all ages and abilities, but participants must pre-register for a starting line spot.

It is free to participate, but those who do are invited to donate to the Al Noor Rehabilitation & the Welfare Association for People of Determination so that they can continue to fund educational programmes that will help them construct a better future. Visit the event page for more information on the Family Run.

Bolt will meet and greet fans at the Gatorade Bolt pavilion, which is located in the Mobility District, following the Family Run on November 13.

On the Gatorade Arabia Instagram page, fans can learn more about the campaign to win an invitation to meet Bolt.

Bolt astonishes a rabid admirer. Hosani, Hamda

Hamda Hosani, a local star and specially-abled Emirati athlete, counts Bolt as one of her heroes, so PepsiCo arranged a surprise Zoom call between the two. Bolt invited Hosani to headline the run at his side when he announced his visit to Expo 2020 Dubai.

Despite having epilepsy, Hosani has never allowed the disability to hold her down, instead of exhibiting incredible persistence, dedication, and talent. She has been a champion in encouraging children to believe in themselves and embrace the sport, as well as in challenging stereotypes about people with disabilities.
