Sheikh Mohammed Launches a Coding Challenge worth $1million

Sheikh Mohammed, the Ruler of Dubai, always looks forward to coming up with some extraordinary plans that motivate youngsters to come up with new ideas and cherish their skills. With the same aim, it has come up with a coding challenge that will propose them a grand prize for graduates of the One Million Arab Coders initiative. The grand prize for the runner-up would be $1 million, whereas, for the five runner-ups, it will be $ 50,000 each. Moreover, the best four trainers will be awarded $25,000 each.

Those graduates who are interested to participate in the project can submit their proposals via the official website of the One Million Arab Coders initiative: www.arabcoders.ae. They will set a jury of experts of coding, technology, and entrepreneurship from all around the globe. They will be evaluating the proposals. By the end of the year, winners’ names would be announced at a ceremony held at the Expo 2020 Dubai. This is being led by Dubai Future Foundation (DFF). They aim to train one million youngsters from the Arab world on how to code.

During the program, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai called up the graduates to bring up ideas to develop the project and participate with the skills they acquire. In spite of all the hurdles caused by the pandemic in 2020, it is believed that the initiative will be a great success. It tends to achieve within 3 years of the timespan.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised for the memorable success of the One Million Arab Coders project through a series of his tweets. He stated that One million Arab coders from around 80 nations connected with the most essential program to educate them in the language of the coming time; through five million working hours, 76,000 training workshops, 100,000 successful graduation projects, and 1,500 scholarships for the students with skills and determination; a wonderful initiative for their Arab youngsters in three years.

He further added that the development and digitalization process in the region continues under the leadership of the UAE. The graduates of the One Million Arab Coders were called up to give their contribution to the biggest coding challenge publicized from Dubai to the Arab world create tangible influences for their societies and constructing a progressive future for their nations.

While talking about this recent challenge, Sheikh Mohammed said that they welcome the graduates of the One Million Arab coders initiative to compete for the title of the Top Coder in the Arab world. They are looking forward to projects that serve humanity, enhance their way of life, and further contribute to building peaceful and growing societies.

He also added that their Arab youth was the wealth of their nation, and they were the pioneers of its development. They were the ones who would put their nations on the path of a future-proof country. Programming, technology, and advanced sciences were the building blocks of the future. In closing, he said:

Sheikh Mohammed also stated the recent launch of the National Programme for Coders in partnership with Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco, IBM, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), LinkedIn, NVIDIA, and Facebook. The scheme looks to give training to 100,000 coders, establish 1,000 digital companies that would go all around the world, and rise start-up investments from AED 1.5 billion to AED 4 billion.

This initiative was launched in October 2017. It provided a chance for young Arab talent to learn a wide range of coding skills and apply them in website and mobile application development, blockchain, artificial intelligence, data, and cloud computing.

Since its launch, the program has granted more than 1,000 nano degree certificates to recognized coders. In excess of 3,600 certified trainers from around the world were nearby to assist the members with the specialized perspectives and offer help in changing over their thoughts into practical projects.
